Warranty Memo
October 1, 2006
To whom it may concern:
Before they are shipped, all VMI leak detectors are tested in our climate controlled laboratory. They are set to find a 2 gallons per hour leak at 10 psi and step through from reset to leak search to full flow in 3.5 seconds.
We guarantee all 99 LD-2000, 99 LD-2200, and 99 LD-3000 series leak detectors to find a 3 gallons per hour leak at 10 psi for a period of 24 months from the date of installation. However, field conditions such as head pressure, length of line, type of line, resiliency of line, thermal expansion and thermal contraction all affect leak detector performance.
Sometimes, leak detectors that seem not to perform to standards are returned with little information on what symptoms the leak detector displayed.
Field personnel experiencing problems should contact the factory while at the site if at all possible.
To allow us to better evaluate the performance of our leak detectors under actual field conditions, we ask for your assistance by distributing the attached LDT- 890 Test Form & VMI Warranty Checklist to field personnel for any leak detector you request be returned for warranty consideration. A copy of the LDT- 890 Test Form & VMI Warranty Checklist is included in the packaging for all leak detectors.
Requested procedure for returned leak detectors is to call the factory with as much information as possible to request a Returned Goods Authorization number. We will assign an RGA number for you to refer to when returning the leak detector. A copy of this completed checklist must be returned with the leak detector.
If you have questions concerning this checklist, we ask that you call the factory at your convenience.
Thank you.
