Subject:        Testing ELLD with an LDT-890

Electronic Line Leak Detection automatically starts a catastrophic line test after dispensing operations are completed and the last authorization is removed.  Unless otherwise instructed by Electronic LLD manufacturer’s instructions, the following test protocol is followed for ELLD testing:

      1.                Tag-out lock-out procedure for all submersible pumps involved.

2.                 Install LDT-890 as per manufacturer’s guidelines in test port of dispenser or appropriate fitting at the highest dispenser.  If no change in elevation, install LDT-890 in the dispenser furthest from the pump.

3.                 Set Four Way Valve to Pressure Step Test.

      4.                 Energize submersible(s).

5.                 Purge line and test equipment.

6.                 Calibrate a 3 GPH @ 10 PSI leak as per LDT-890 protocol.

7.                 Turn LDT-890 Four Way Valve to 3 GPH Test.

8.                 Remove authorization from dispenser.

9.                 Wait for electronic line leak detection system to declare leak.

Wait time before system declares leak may vary depending on manufacturer of ELLD and software installed.  If ELLD system does not declare leak within five minutes, contact ELLD manufacturer.
